February Favourites.

I cannot believe how quickly February went, I know it's a short month but it just disappeared. Not that I mind too much because March is going to be incredible, I can feel it, but more of that another day!

Anyways as the title suggests this is my February Favourites, I don't have too many favourites because I did a lot of buying new things this month. So I've been trying them out, which I didn't want to put in my favourites until there tried and tested! So here we go..

Neutrogena Spot Stress Control Daily Scrub, NIVEA Oil Free Day Cream, Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation, MAC 206 Brush, Real Techniques Angle Brush, Natural Collection Crushed Walnut Eyeshadow, Next Paradise Perfume. 

First up is some skin care favourites, my skin has been an absolute nightmare the last couple of months, breaking out all over the place yet really dry and oily at the same time. I really cannot keep up. Anyways this daily scrub has been a life saver it gives a deep clean, gets rid of dead skin yet doesn't dry my skin out, perfect. My skin is finally clearing up yet theres a lot of damage which needs all the help it can get. At the moment me skin feels really tight and dry, which is where my second favourite comes in, NIVEA oil free day cream. This cream is so velvety, light and refreshing. It glides on the skin and sinks in beautifully leaving no traces of oil or residue just feeling hydrated and drenched.

I'm quite surprised I like this foundation, because I want full coverage but I don't like my foundation being too thick. However I got this little tester out of my Boots Beauty Advent Calendar (See here) and my god I love it, so I bought the full size. It is thick but because of the mouse consistency it's still fairly light, well as light as a full coverage matte foundation comes. What I really like about this foundation is it's perfect for when you need full coverage for a long period of time, I really like using it when I'm going out or clubbing because I know I don't have to worry about shine or touching up. And whats perfect, it has no SPF so flash photography come at me.

This perfume is quite an odd one because I received it for my birthday years ago, I'm talking like 7-8 years ago, but never really used it that often. However because my staple everyday Calvin Klein ran out and Channel is too much for work I resorted to this whilst deciding what perfume to buy. Well it's safe to say I'm glad I did re-discover this perfume because it smells so fruity and sweet perfect for early spring.

These three favourites are more of an all in one kind of favourite, or a make-up look. What I've been doing all month is instead of my standard liquid eyeliner flicks I've been using this brown shadow or a matte black for my eyeliner, so it's a little smudgy but not heavy like using gel liner. I really like this look for day time because it just frames the eyes without looking too heavy, and it's really quick and easy in the mornings. I've also been using this colour and my MAC 206 brush to fill in my eyebrows, I got his from Alice over at BeautyByAlicee, I love her blog and would definitely recommend checking her out! I love this little combo for filling in my brows so there not harsh but still filled in and framing the face.

The last favourite is my Lush Shampoo bar (full review), this wasn't featured in the main image because it's not looking so new anymore and frankly quite wet and weird. Anyways I love this, it's supposed to stimulate hair grow and I really think it has. I have long hair anyways but it never used to grow past a certain point however since using this bar, since like Xmas, I've found my hair getting longer than it's ever been. This shampoo also makes my hair feel so thick and healthy I love it!

January Favourites.

I feel like January has gone so quick this year, normally it drags so much but it's flown by! I must say though this January has been so much better than last year due to extreme tonsillitis and my throat closing up, you no casual. So this year has already started pretty darn well!

Right enough of the babble lets get going with my January favourites. This months favourites are pretty much all new bits which I got in and around Christmas but they have pretty much since overtaken my life.

First up is a bronzer from Rimmel, now this bronzer was a bit of a stressful buy. Leading up to this purchase I just could never get my bronzer colour match right and was getting myself quite worked up about the situation. However I stumbled across this when in Superdrug stocking up on my favourite Stay Matte Powder, I picked it up and though meh it's worth a go. I really love the natural glow it gives and how it warms up my skin in the winter months. The powder in the pan itself has a very minimal amount of shimmer which doesn't transfer to the skin at all, it's quite matte. Overall I really love it however I'm still on the hunt for the perfect bronzer.

Whats a favourites without mentioning a Real Techniques Brush eh? So I bring you the stippling brush, I got this for Christmas but didn't start using it until mid Jan and man I'm kicking myself. I love how it applies my foundation giving a flawless but natural look. As I find with the buffing brush it gives a heavier application, so the stippling is perfect for week day foundation.

Soap&Glory is a brand I've always loved but the price tag was always a little high for a student way to into drinking. So when I got a few bits for Christmas I was so happy to get trying and its safe to so I've loved them so much I'm featuring two in this post!

First up is the Righteous Butter, now I know this has already been spoken about this in the #2014bloggerchallenge skincare post (read me) but It needs a special mention here. I simply am in love with this product, it makes my skin so silky smooth for days after use. It also smells incredible, it's so buttery yet with a light texture. Such a perfect product for winter or dry skin.

Second S&G is the Kick Ass Concealer, however specifically one part of it, the setting powder. I'll talk about the concealer as a whole latter in the month but for now the setting powder is my new love. I've always used Rimmel Stay Matte since I care to remember and it's done me fine however this setting powder has changed me. I love how it really locks in my concealer not looking cakey and staying put all day, I'm not really sure how I can explain why I love it I just do!

Last beauty product of the batch is the L'oréal Line Studio #TXT volume texture spray. This is a fairly new edition to my hair products, over the last year I have been hunting for a good volume spray. Now I love using the Schwarz got2be volume mouse however if my hair gets wet my hair gets very matted and it's not great for if you don't wash your hair everyday. So When I found the L'oréal spray it solved my problems! This is such a good spray and go to product which gives instant lift to the roots and makes bed hair that little more tamed. Again I'll do a lengthy review on this later in the month, but bottom line you will not regret buying this product.

Lastly in this favourites post is a song, I know I never really include things like this but I am really really loving Clean Bandits 'rather be'. It's such a uplifting end of winter song and it's been stuck in my head all week! Love it!

2013 Favourites!

Normally I would be posting a monthly favourite at this time of the month however with the New Year I thought it would only be appropriate to do an end of year favourites. This is a collection of things I've been loving most the year round (depending on when I bought them) and always come back to using on a regular basis.  

Lets jump right in!

Real Techniques Blush Brush, Real Techniques Detailer Brush, Mac 217 Brush.  

First up are brushes, now I haven't always been a user of make-up brushes in other years until I started watching YouTube and reading blogs. This is when I started to see the importance of a good brush and the different brushes available. My far favourite have been the Real Technique brushes as their so affordable and great quality.

My two absolute favourites are the Blush and Detailer brush. I love the Blush brush because it's so fluffy with a domed structure and tapered tip it's perfect for applying blush to the apples of my checks. It is quite big but I personally love big brushes for blush and I'm thinking about buying another one for my bronzer.

My second favourite is the Detailer brush. I like this brush because it's so soft yet stays in shape. I like using it for inner corner highlight and adding precision colour to my lids and underneath my eyes, especially for a smokey eye look.

Lastly my Mac 217 brush, oh my this was a complete game changer to eye make-up for me. I love how fluffy it is and blends eyeshadows beautifully. I've never been able to master a smokey eye until I found this tool!

 Maybelline Gel Liner in Black and Natural Collection Eyeshadow in White Opal. 

I've been using my maybelline gel liner ever since it first come out. I always use this when I'm going clubbing because it gives me that dramatic black unlike any liquid liner was able to. I also like it because the problem I find with liquid liner is the line needs to be perfect otherwise it looks wonky, but with gel by using a brush it's easier to apply and because it gives an almost textured smudgy look you can get away with not being so neat.

My little Natural Collection pot it's such a pretty colour. Although it's white it also has a slight shimmer to it making it pearly. I like to use this in the inner corner of my eye and finds it really brightens up my eyes and makes me look more awake. I also like the fact that because it's this pearly colour you can wear it in the day for a wide eye look and also it contrasts really nicely in a black smokey eye. (full review here)

Bourjois Colour Boost 'Red Sunshine', 'Orange Punch', 'Peach on the Beach', 'Plum Russian'. 

Oh the Bourjois Colour Boost lip crayons, my heart melts. If you've read my blog a lot you'll know I'm obsessed with these, I love them! There a dupe for the Clinique Chubby Sticks which I've never personally tried before because the price tag in out of reach for me. But these Bourjois sticks are so good they're so easy to apply, give great pigmentation, the perfect amount of gloss and wonderful staying power. I'm just in love with them.  TopShop Glitter Nail Polish 'Adrenaline' and 'Tingle'.

My nail varnish collection was complete when the purple toned one came home with me. I could not believe how good it was, the colour was opaque within 2 coats! They are both full with tiny specs of multi toned glitter which catch the light so beautifully. They are the best glitter polishes I have ever come across and love wearing them on my forth fingers with a similar colour on the rest.

Schwarzkof got2be 2 Sexy Big Volume volumizing spray mousse.  

Now this product smells incredible, just like strawberries! I've tried many different mousses to get volume and I always end up using too much and my hair just goes sticky and crispy. Then I found this..in a spray bottle. The mousse itself does a great job, it lifts my roots and gives instant volume with staying power. Although I don't think I would get along with it as well if it wasn't in a spray applicator, because of the spray function you can apply it exactly where you want it without using too much.

Michael Kors Rose Gold Watch.  

This was a present from my Mum for graduating and I haven't stopped wearing it since I got it in July. How could you not love it! I can't pick out or explain why I love it so much, but I do. I love the chunkiness, the roman numerals, the dials, everything!

The colour orange.

This pick is a little bit broad it is simply the colour orange. I've really enjoyed wearing this colour be it dresses, nail varnish, jackets, lips, the lot. My obsession started with wearing pink a lot which then moved to coral which turned into bright vibrant orange! However my problem now lies that I have so much orange I need to do a separate orange wash, next on my list are the orange skinny jeans from H&M for summer!

New Look Heel Boots. 

Last but not least these heeled boots from New Look, now I know they look a bit battered but thats because there my go to shoe for a night out. I've had them for just over a year now and they have been worn to death yet still going strong. I really like the fake suede look because it means they don't stand out to much with the bulkiness of them so you can get away with wearing them with dresses. I love the lace up style and I tend to wear them quite lose so they don't look too like riding shoes, if you know what I mean haha.


So that's it my 2013 favourites. I'm so excited for the next year ahead and can't wait to discover new beauty and fashion favourites!

November Favourites.

November is quickly forgotten for most but for me it has been my best month of the year, so many good things have happened and I'm sad yet excited for December to make an appearance. As November is behind us it's only right to show you what I've been loving throughout the month. Although most of my picks are quite general and not very specific just because I loved everything in November even down to my hangover the day after graduation haha.


Midi Rings/ Primark. Costa Coffee Club Card. Bourjois Rouge Edition/ 17 Rose Millésime. Bourjois Colour Boost/ 06 Plum Russian. Orly Nail Varnish/ Naughty. 













Like I said above my favourites are quite general but lets get going.

Starting with Costa. I have just been really loving Costa recently, I've always favoured Costa over Starbucks, not really sure why. Just on a cold day I love popping into Costa picking up a Hazelnut Latte and having a sit down for a while. I feel Coffee shops especially around this time of year, they just feel really charismatic. I remember in collage first year before we started going to pubs we would always go to Cafe Nero in our free periods, sit in the same place, have the same drink and just chatter the day away.

Second kind of general favourite is dark nail varnishes. I've never been into dark colours on my tips because I feel they looked strange against my pale skin but this year I've really got into them. I think with nail varnishes, when I was at uni, it tended to be black or pink. Now though you can get so many nice navy tones and burgundy shades it's like a winter wardrobe has opened up for me in the nails department.

My third general favourite is H&M. I've never been a big shopper there because they don't really cater for the bigger figure, but now I've lost 2 stone I'm loving it! I got my graduation dress, a red dress and a orange christmasy winter jumper (as you can see above) which I've already started wearing to death. I love going in there now knowing theres a chance the cloths will fit, such a good feeling.

 My final general favourite is midi-rings, mine are just sets from Primark which cost about £1.50 each pack. When midi-rings first came out I though it was a bit of an odd trend but I've been loving them. I especially love my moustache one!

Whats a monthly favourite without a couple of lipsticks, my two this month are both from Bourjois. First up in from the colour boost range which essentially are a chubby stick dupe, a very good dupe at that. I love the Bourjois ones there so glossy, pigmented and not drying. I especially love this dark plum colour with is perfect for the winter months. I like that because it's glossy the deep colour doesn't look too vampy just a nice almost fresh winter lip colour.

My second Bourjois colour is from the Rouge Edition. I already own a bight reddy orange and loved the formula so I recently picked up a dusky pinky tone. What I like about this colour is it's not bright or dark it's just a nice everyday colour which turns everyday make-up looking a bit brighter.
